13th Birthday Party Ideas For Girls and Boys
A 13th birthday party might be considered one of the most important birthday parties; at least up to that point in the child’s life! So it is very important that the party is fun and creative. This article has great ideas for 13th birthday parties. Some of the ideas can work for either boy or girl parties, and some are for combined parties.
Rent Out a Gym
Many towns and cities have a local gymnastics gym. Some of these places can be rented out for an hour or two for birthday parties. These places can be a great idea for a 13th birthday party. There are mats and trampolines, big foam shapes, and pits filled with foam. Thirteen-year olds can have fun for hours here playing tag, jumping around, and playing on the equipment.
When the gyms are rented out, they will usually come with several of the workers to watch the kids when they use the equipment and play around to make sure they stay safe. It might also not be a bad idea to recommend, or at least allow the parents of the party goers to stick around at the gym if they would like to.
This party idea is a great idea for a boy and girl party or exclusively a girl or solely a boy 13th birthday party. But it would definitely be more fun for the kids if there are more kids there to run around and play tag.
Swimming
A swimming party is a great idea for a 13th birthday party. And this type of party can be done year round. If it is too cold to swim outside, most cities have indoor pools that can be used during the winter. Kids have fun swimming and playing in the water. Most 13-year old teens probably prefer to have a swimming party with kids of their own gender, but this type of party could be a good idea for a boy and girl party if the birthday kid feels comfortable with that.
Though most kids can make up their own fun when they are swimming with their friends, it isn’t a bad idea for the parent(s) to have some ideas for pool games just in case the need arises. Games like water volley ball and Marco Polo can be a lot of fun. After the kids swim they can gather together for pizza, cake, and ice cream.
Sledding
Having a sledding party for a 13th birthday party is definitely dependent on the weather, but if there is enough snow, this can be a great birthday party idea. Sledding is a lot of fun for both thirteen year old boys and girls. Along with sledding, there could be a snow man building contest, or a snow angel making contest. And parents can serve the kids hot chocolate, cake, and ice cream after they have gone sledding.
Dance
While some thirteen-year old kids are not quite ready for a dance, some might choose it for their 13th birthday party. There are a variety of ways to go about having a dance for a 13th birthday party. Having a theme might be a fun way to go about having a dance. Kids could be asked to dress up as certain characters from a movie, from a television show, or from a certain time period.
It is also a good idea for parents to have games set up since it may take awhile for the kids to get comfortable dancing with each other. Games such as Twister or balloon volleyball might be a great way for the kids to begin to interact with each other.
A food and drink table is another important thing to have at a 13th year old dance birthday party. It is important that parents keep the table filled with snacks and drinks throughout the party.
Restaurant
Another fun and simple idea for a 13th birthday party is going to a fun restaurant. There are many restaurants that have cool themes and decorations. This can be a fun way for the birthday kid to spend their 13th birthday. A restaurant birthday party might be best for just close friends and family since it can get pretty expensive if a lot of kids are invited.
Want Some Good 18th Birthday Party Ideas?
Some birthdays are milestones in a young person’s life. Obviously reaching 10 or 13 or 16 or 20 are important achievements. But what about reaching 18?
In many ways reaching 18 means reaching adulthood. It signifies a true beginning to being a grown-up. So it would seem that a party to honor such an occasion should be fun, yet not seem too childish. Here are a few 18th birthday party ideas that you might consider.
One idea is to perhaps coincide the party with going to college. The birthday celebrant is probably starting college soon, and so a college theme for the birthday might be nice. Perhaps a visit to the college and a celebration at a nearby restaurant would be pleasant. Or maybe have the party at home with a frat/sorority theme and for food feature “mystery meat”.
An easier party to have at home can center around food. An all-pizza party would be great. With a build-it -yourself dessert bar with ice cream and all the fixings.
But perhaps your 18-year-old-to-be would find the above idea too childish, which it sort of is. So another idea is to take the teen and friends to a theme park for the day. Give them tickets and let them spend the whole day there, then come back to your house for the pizza or ice cream or whatever.
Another idea for a party is to hire a DJ and have music. The party can be at home or perhaps at a rec center rented for the day. You will have to find the right kind of DJ who has the best music though, and equipment. Another musical idea is to have each invited teen bring a CD they enjoy, and just play those at the party.
One more idea I’ll share is a boat ride party. Boats can be chartered for a day for fishing or sailing or just sightseeing. Of course this only works if the teen was born during a warmer month. If it is too cold for boating then perhaps a paintball party would be fun to have indoors.
I hope some of these 18th birthday party ideas sound good to you. What’s probably most important is to choose an activity that the teen and friends will really enjoy and have the most fun, making the party one to remember (at least until the next one)!
Christmas Office Party Games
Having an office party is a great place to play games. As long as you make sure that it’s the right type of environment for letting loose and having fun, everyone will love these activities. Christmas work place party games tend to bring out the best in people.
1. Santa’s Secret Stash- This is one of the most fun Christmas office party games around! You give everyone a bag with their name on it filled with goodies. If they say any of the following words during the party, they have to give you one of their goodies! The words are Santa, reindeer, snow, Christmas, presents, etc. You can really fine-tune this to fit the style of your office party.
2. Christmas Bingo- You can have Bingo cards made up that are Christmas themed. Each person gets to fill in one square depending on if they meet certain criteria. For example: “Fill in a Christmas tree if you bought a new outfit for this party!” Make up criteria that is fun and Christmas related and you’ll have a winner on your hands.
3. Name that Christmas Tune- If you have a group of music lovers, you can play Christmas party games that includes music! Play a few seconds of a particular Christmas song and see who can “name that Christmas tune.”
4. Christmas Treasure Hunt – Hide various Christmas themed items around the room and have people locate them based on certain clues. This can be done in groups of people, individuals, or even couples. When they find the Christmas item it can be something they get to take home! Alternatively, you can have them hunt for people who have done various Christmas related things this year. This is great if you want to get people mingling.
5. Of course, no Christmas office party games list is complete without a gift exchange. There are many different ways that you can do this gift exchange. The most popular is probably doing a Secret Santa. That way people only have to buy for one person and aren’t embarrassed if their gift is exchanged as with a White Elephant exchange.
Christmas work place party games are a great way to bring some life into your holiday party or office. Decide which ones the employees will like the best and you’ll have a great time this holiday season.
